THE STORY BEHIND THE SCORE
A match is a clue.
Look a little closer.
A correctly cited quotation and an uncited paragraph need different responses. Your report should help you tell them apart.

Similarity is not a plagiarism verdict
Matches need human review. A high score can include legitimate quotations; a low score can still contain unattributed material.
Different tools can give different results
Source coverage and settings vary. One checker’s result cannot guarantee the same score from your institution’s service.
AI detection is a separate question
Text similarity looks for overlap with sources. AI detection estimates how text may have been written.

Is this plagiarism checker free?
Yes. You can check your text here at no cost. Scanning allowances and pricing are still being finalised, so the limits on this page may change.
What is a good plagiarism percentage?
There is no universal acceptable percentage. Review what matched and follow your institution’s or publisher’s requirements. Properly cited quotations and references can contribute to similarity.
Will my results match Turnitin?
Different services use different databases and settings. A similarity report cannot guarantee a particular Turnitin score.
What happens to the text I paste?
Your text is sent to our plagiarism-scanning provider so it can be compared against their index of web and published sources. This page does not store your text or your report. The provider keeps submitted content under its own privacy policy, so avoid pasting confidential material.
Does 0% similarity mean there is no plagiarism?
No. It means a tool did not identify matching text within its coverage and settings. You should still check that borrowed ideas and quotations are correctly attributed.
Why do quotations and references appear as matches?
Quotations repeat exact wording and references use standard formats. Review their context and attribution rather than removing required references to lower a score.
Can I check a full thesis or upload a document?
Not yet. This checker takes pasted text only, up to 2,000 words per scan. File uploads and long-document support are not available here.
Can a checker detect paraphrasing?
Only to a limited extent. This checker looks for wording that overlaps closely with a source, so a rewritten passage often produces no match at all. Paraphrased ideas still need a citation even when nothing is flagged.
